As a Spokane Wedding photographer, I visit many places, and after just one rainy visit in October, Quail Run Ranch quickly went to the top of my list. To be sure, the Spokane area has many options for fantastic wedding venues. However, just north of Spokane in Newport, WA is a real gem of a venue tucked in the pine trees and fields.
Read on to find out why Quail Run Ranch might be a good choice for your upcoming wedding.
Quail Run Ranch is ready for any weather on your wedding day
As a wedding photographer, one of the first things I look for with a venue is how prepared a location is for any weather condition. What are our options if it rains, and how will the staff respond?
If you’ve picked a location like Quail Run Ranch, it’s NOT because you want your wedding inside. I bet you are drawn to the rustic feel, scenery, and overall vibe of being outdoors. I was impressed when I showed up for a fall wedding with the many options to dodge the rain while still outdoors.
Dance in the rain or party indoors
Embrace the storm on the wedding day and dance in the rain under greenery and lights, or head to the covered indoor patio. Both options are great, and the covered areas still let lots of light pour in, giving the indoors an outdoor feel.
The bride during this wedding was adventurous enough to say “I do” amidst a rainstorm, but for her wedding portraits, we were able to keep everyone dry, taking photos under covered walkaways and in barns. Quail Run Ranch offered many options to be outdoors and stay dry for wedding portraits.
However, after the ceremony, everyone embraced the weather and took some epic photos playing in the rain by the pond. I must admit, after these photos, I decided rainy weddings might be my favorite.
My overall thoughts on Quail Run Ranch
The staff is terrific in working with the bride and groom and other vendors. Quail Run Ranch has a small-town hospitality charm, and they go above and beyond to make the day perfect.
The biggest plus? So many amazing outdoor features mean you can create unique images from almost any portion of the property.
Getting ready spaces were a bit small, especially if you have a big wedding party. However, I don’t think this should be a limiting factor when looking at Quail Run Ranch for your wedding. If you choose to get ready at the venue, you might be a little cozy for a few minutes. However, it’s not anything too small or uncomfortable. Think quaint and rustic.
