Welcoming a new baby to the mix is a joyous occasion; even better is welcoming a new baby into an already bustling, loud, joyful family. I adore everything about this new family of five. They laugh, play hard, and love hard. An At-Home Newborn Session for Ellie was the perfect way to capture this family’s unique moments.
Siblings
Ellie was welcomed by two big brothers who are already doing a great job with their new roles. When I do a session with kids, family sessions, or newborn sessions, I try to get their photos out of the way first, and if they want to join in for the rest, fantastic! However, I have limited expectations regarding attention spans, so we knock out sibling photos first thing.
Even though this was a newborn session, it’s important to me to show a little extra love to the big brothers, so they know how much I appreciate them as well. I’m all about crawling on the floor to see how cool their cars are!
At Home Sessions Include Breaks
The best part of an At-Home Session is we leave lots of time for feeding, diaper changes, and cuddles. Baby is in charge at all times, and we work around their needs.
Connection Over Perfection
You won’t find perfectly curated poses because that’s not the goal of these sessions. This family just got to do life while I documented it as it unfolded. Life is beautiful the way it is: Chaotic, crazy, joyous, loud and quiet.
Thank you to Ellie’s family for letting me witness part of your day!
