Photos that embrace everyone that makes up your crew. These sessions are best suited when there is more than one family unit with young children. Each family unit will get a mini session of sorts and then we bring everyone together at the end for full family photos. Grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and the family dog. You round up your family and I’ll help you plan a dynamic session with everyone involved.

Count down (but not for too long) the days until you receive the most exciting email you’ve seen in weeks — a link with your online gallery. I’ll send over your online gallery 2-4 weeks after the session. This is where you can use that handy customer portal to order albums and prints.
Countdown
All I ask is that you show up authentically as yourself. I’ll hold space for you as you are, as opposed to creating something you’re supposed to fit into. No makeup? Cool. Bringing the dogs? Would you please? This is about recognizing everyday life and deciding that it’s epic just the way it is.
Show up
Two weeks before our session, keep your eyes peeled for a discovery questionnaire. This is how we begin to work out the best location for your family photos. I know some of the coolest photo locations in Spokane and will suggest a few that fit your preferences. I’ll touch base with you one week out as well to confirm details.
Finalize details
To get on my calendar, pay a deposit and sign an online contract. This is when you’ll get access to a customer portal where you can order prints and download images. And thanks to a private customer site, you’ll have everything you need to prepare and will know what to expect along the way.

I approach every session like it’s your first time, sharing tips and details ahead of the session so you can show up comfortably and confidently. You’ll feel like you’ve done this before. I always see a noticeable difference after the first 10 minutes as you start to just live in the moment. We’ll talk, laugh, tell stories, and just explore the scenery while I take photos of your family.

01. This is our first family photoshoot. Do you have tips for us?
That won’t be the first time, but I can tell you that it all works out. I want to see your kids throwing rocks, the dogs running wild and you just embracing the captivating chaos of what life really looks like. Some of these moments, that may feel stressful at first, result in the most authentic photos. Give it some time and space while I do what I do best — getting on their level with toys, treats, and patience. Plus, getting this energy out just makes it easier to calm down and let those carefree smiles show at the end of the session.

02. What if my kids and/or dog(s) are unruly?
I lean towards documenting raw, candid moments, but that doesn’t mean I won’t pose you at all. Trust me, having some guidance during a family photography session is reassuring! I’ll use gentle prompts and suggestions so we can get photos that really feel like you. Remember, I’ve been taking family photos for years! I know when you need a little more guidance and when I need to just step back and let your family do their thing.

Family Photography - What to Expect
03. What’s your posing style?
Rain is definitely a consideration for sessions outdoors. However, snow and wildfire smoke in the Inland NW are also trouble makers for scheduling.
After selecting your date, we will set a soft time for about an hour after sunrise or before sunset. The time isn't confirmed until 4 days out when we get a good look at the weather. It's rare an entire day won't work and we can normally shift our time a bit.
But there are those times when the weather just won't work for that day. I always hold 1 day a week for reschedule shoots, even in busy seasons.
04. What if it rains?
You have two opportunities to order professional wall art and products. When you first receive your booking proposal, you'll see options to add on art packages. This is the best time to bundle items together at the best rate.
After you receive your gallery, you will have access to a custom store for your photos. At this time you can order prints, metals, canvases and other premium quality photo products. All products bought through your store are high quality and additionally retouched for long lasting enjoyment.
05. How can I order product?
A $150 deposit is due at booking and the balance is due on the day of the shoot.
For orders over $400, I do offer payment plans to make premium quality wall art accessible to all families.
